6 Tips to Plan Inexpensive Weddings

Do you want the perfect wedding, but don't want to spend years afterwards paying for it? People say that the most expensive things that a person would ever undertake in his or her lifetime are to buy a house and to get married. There's no doubt about it, weddings can be terribly expensive. Have you recently started to plan your wedding? You surely must have come to the conclusion that weddings can be extremely costly events. Is it possible to plan inexpensive weddings?

Don't despair! It is possible to plan for a moving and amazing wedding day without breaking the bank. Some creativity and a lot of planning is all it takes to create the perfect wedding on a tight budget.

Here are 6 tips to plan inexpensive weddings:

1. Catering
The catering can become very expensive. Think about alternatives, such as having it at a restaurant (if you have a small number of guests), a buffet dinner, a finger dinner, or even a picnic.
2.Invitations
You can make invitation cards on your own computer and ink-jet printer, or you can ask a friend to make a design and upload the design to a website like Greeting card Universe where you will be able to order printed invitation cards at a fraction of the price that a print shop may charge you.

3.The reception venue
Have your wedding reception outdoors -- ask if you could use a friend or family member's house, especially one with a very nice house and garden. Arrange for cleaning services to clean up after the wedding.

4.Wedding album
You need to get the photos in digital format. You can then use a self-publishing website like Lulu.com, where you can upload your photos to and design your own wedding album with your own photos. The website will have your album printed in a professional glossy format with the type of cover you specify and mail it to you. Best of all, you friends and family can also order their own copies of the wedding album directly from the wedding website.

5.Professional wedding planner
If you want to plan an inexpensive wedding, forget about hiring a professional wedding planner or coordinator. They are usually very expensive. If you do not feel up to the task yourself, ask a friend or family member to assist you.

6.Wedding cake
You can order a small wedding cake for the cake table to display as well as a large sheet cake to cut and serve from the kitchen. Instead of having special dessert, serve the cake as the dessert.
